What the Extension Does

• Reads the text content of web pages — only when you click "Summarize" or "Extract Key Points"
• Stores your preferences (language, theme, exam type) locally in your browser
• Stores saved summaries and key points locally in your browser

What the Extension Does NOT Do

• Does not send any data to external servers
• Does not collect personal information
• Does not track your browsing history
• Does not use analytics or telemetry
• Does not share data with third parties
• Does not use cookies

Permissions Explained

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

• User preferences (language, theme, exam type)
• Saved summaries and key points
• No data is stored on external servers

Data Deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time:

Option 1 — Via Extension:

1. Open the Extension popup
2. Go to "Saved" tab
3. Click "Clear All"

Option 2 — Via Chrome Settings:

1. Go to chrome://extensions/
2. Find "GK Summary"
3. Click "Details" → "Clear data"

Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use any third-party services, APIs, or analytics tools. All processing happens locally in your browser.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
